It was a nice leisurely sail, flat water with light winds -7 to 10 knots across to Gorgeson Pass, but a easy reach and we rode one tack for the whole way. A good first sail of the season for both girls. We motored through the Pass into Plumper Sound, and then -wishing we kept the spinnaker on board- rode wing on wing until we rounded up into Port Browning.
We're involved with 2 boating groups; Langley Power & Sail Squadron and Point Roberts Yacht Club, and they both were having events there this weekend. There were 7 LPSS boats and 21 PRYC -several of those arriving Sunday, after the 'Round Saltspring Race' . Although it was nice to be able to 'do both', we did find it a challenge to keep up with both throughout the weekend. I think everyone understood, and that no one felt we short changed either. The weather was great for the whole weekend; Sunday night was a great Salmon BBQ/potluck; we unsuccessfully tried to show a movie on the docks -using a projector and our mainsail for a screen, but the projector didn't work with the HD resolution; disappointing.
Monday's return home began w/sailing light winds across Plumper, but after the motor transit of Gorgeson, the winds were quite light, so we motorsailed the Strait back to Point Roberts.
