After lots of 'we should.....', we finally arranged for our friends Amanda & Peter to come out for a weekend with us. It was a flat, no wind motor down. As we approached, we first saw the taken buyos, then anchor spaces, finally the boats at the dock. Given our preferred at dock weekend, we almost turned for Sucia, but decided to drive down deeper, just to confirm the dock was full. There ended up being about 30' of dockspace, so we tied up, had a quick walk up the trail, then watched a beautiful sunset.
It was a wonderful weekend of exporing and relaxing. Because of restricted (no dogs) access to the island's trails, we had not yet done the island trails, so there was something new for everyone. We had an engine-less (broken down) sailboat come anchor & tie a stern line to the dock(!) the Saturday. A group of young comples/families were doing an annual kayak week -their first time with babies. They ellicited the grandparents to act as pilot boat/baby taxi. Although we never noticed it, they apologiezed profusley for all the noise & hub-bub... handing over a nice bottle of wine to say sorry. Thanks very much!
The trip home was un-eventful. Not really much wind for sailing, so we motored until a few miles of of PRM and sailed for an hour or so, so our friends could say they were out sailing. I think they enjoyed themselves.
